Alexander McQueen Angel Booties F/W 2010

Alexander McQueen said he liked to send his women to war. His aesthetic was oftentimes violent and filled with war imagery. According to Showstudio, his last collection showed a more fragile side of him, one in which he depicted women as angels. This is supposed to be a more mature approach to the subject. Personally, I believe that depicting women as warriors and angels are two opposite sides of the same worldview. Two sides that a mature point of view would reconcile and transcend.

This booties however, are the zenith of opulence, and one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen so far.
