Boris Bidjan Saberi S/S 2011

I don’t usually follow menswear because if I can’t wear it, then it kind of falls out of my scope. But every so often, a menswear collection pulls my attention and I am forced to comply. Because I can see that some of it can be translated easily into womenswear, or because it has the kind of timeless appeal that I just know will make ripples on my closet. It is the case with Boris Bidjan Saberi. First of all, the amazing leatherwork so thin you can see through it. Second, the monochrome. I love it when designers leave color out of the equation because it opens up a million more possibilities length, silhouette and texture wise. And finally, I just admire his decision to do the show in what seems to be a firefighter station parking lot. You can watch the show over here).
