Cecilie Bahnsen: RCA graduate fashion week

Coco Chanel used to say that before leaving your house you should always look in the mirror and remove one item. This might be good advice especially if you -like me- are prone to over layering. Sometimes when I am figuring out new ways to wear or style certain garments, I tend to go crazy and throw in piece over piece until I have gone over my entire wardrobe twice. I especially look for that careless improvised look intently. Which is probably one of the most difficult things to fake xD

What really strikes my fancy about a couple of pieces from this collection is the soft layering. Volumes are down to next to zero, so instead of ending up with bulky silhouettes, the final look is really polished and understated. She makes cut outs smart, it sometimes look like chinese cut paper, sometimes she fakes them with flesh toned polka dots.
