Cutest flats for spring
Style without the torture
Flats for spring are a new concept. For the longest time every magazine and TV show out there tried to drill the concept of high heels into our collective soul: style is something you earn. Style is not free. You aren’t born with style, you GROW into it. If you aren’t suffering from vertigo or feet sores, then you certainly, most definitely do not deserve style. But ladies, let me tell you something: all of that is nonsense with a capital N. You can have the best of both worlds.
Now, you are probably asking: why cutest flats for spring?, why not cutest flats period? well, during the winter it’s kind of reasonable to get yourself high heels. After all, we don’t really get to show off our clothes being bundled in coats and jackets every day. We go for them so we have at least one thing to brag about. But spring means freedom. So don’t be a ninny, get one of these fabulous pairs:
Creepers are everywhere and we ADORE them. Fun, quirky, comfortable, and they even add an inch or two to your height. They are the shooting starts of the cutest flats for spring: brilliant but fleeting. We don’t know how much they will last so get your pair of creepers while they are hot. Asos, $90
They have enough bravado to grant you kudos from strangers, while still keeping it relaxed. Easy to match, perfect for the boy-meets-girl look. Play it safe and pair it up with girly stuff, or go for a full fledged tomboy look. Topshop, $70
Florals and spring are inseparable so these are still a solid choice. Just get yourself a pair of textured socks to match and you are set to go. Free People, $90
With the clog frenzy dying out, the only shoe left with the 70′s stamp of approval is the braided flat sandal. Always go for brown or tan. ZARA, $35
When we first heard jellies were making a comeback, we were kind of grossed out. Our memories of jellies are not sweet, considering the clear plastic always ended up turning yellow and smelly (ewww). But this particular version in black looks totally safe (plus we love the hidden heart details). ASOS, $90
A few months ago, a breakthrough was made. We discovered that the seemingly harmless desert boots we had collecting dust in our closet turned killer when paired up with neon colors (especially hot pink socks). So now that we tipped you in on this, you can experience the neon trend from a totally fresh angle. Madewell, $140
We used to make fun of every girl sporting these for trying too hard. That was, of course, until we tried them on. Boy, were we mistaken. These shoes are so powerful they don’t transform the way you walk, they transform the very earth beneath your feet. Slip ‘em on and its like pressing the zero gravity button. Urban Outfitters, $80
What better way to channel that inner ballerina than getting your own pair of ballet flats? Don’t be afraid to be too literal, sometimes its fun to dress up. Topshop, $30
